We are fashioned by technology. Our parts are moving, but they lack vitality. It’s true; we live by the blood of mechanical monsters and cold steel machines. It’s so contrived and predictable. It can hurt to feel, so why feel anything?
I built a wall so tall, so mighty, around my heart and outside my head. I shaped the bricks with fear and cautiousness, and used detachment to complete my defense.
So bring on the peace. Who would dare feel anything?
I locked myself away, so no one could get to me, but now I feel nothing. I heard everybody did the same…no hearts, no minds, and wires for brains.

I am living with sorrow perched on tightly drawn lips. It waits for a breath, or a kiss, to steal inside and claim my chest. So my mouth stays shut, but words still gather at the tip of my tongue like a restless soldier holding a loaded gun. It’s such a struggle to endure the simple act of living. Each day I get more angry and a little more bitter. I could dig a hole: a filthy bed. If I’m not happy then I’d rather be dead.
We believe in peace, but we can’t find the means.
I tried to fill my heart with the blood of Rock & Roll. I tried to fill my soul with sex, and booze, and gold. Oh, but nothing made me happy. Only God can save my wretched heart.
Misery, and shaky knees, and shameful deeds left only guilt and secrecy. I am weak, please strengthen me. Forgive me…I will not become what they say I should be.
My God, I know that I should be the better melody. My song will please your ears. I’ll make a noise for everyone to hear.
