We, we can live to take and call it prosperity:
The American way, the belief that I can achieve anything.
We can be great if we just take, take, take.
Subscribe to the patrons and modern-day Saints,
The falsehoods and teachers, and gospels they feed us.
Just think! Question the life that we deserve.
We did not steal, let’s call this misery earned.
So lonely, lost, and longing for the need to satisfy…
We are framing our kingdoms on the spoils of philanthropic crimes.
We are vacant, so we search for some meaning.
Never content, we are the want beyond the need.
Such greed…the cut is never fully healed.
The sutures slip again, and I am left with blood on my hands.
I’m such a sucker for the warmth of excess on my skin,
[I’ll be] fashionably fashioned from an insatiable wound.
So make no mistake, we feed because we like the taste.
We cheat to assure victory. We love because it suits our needs.
I don’t think we’ll ever know peace; we’ll never be happy.
And if there’s a God, then how can He love me?
Let’s live knowing we could die happy. Let’s die knowing we lived selflessly.
